Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Today's game

We have simply got to start taking chances, especially Fash. We should have been at least 5 up at half time but we sat back and let them play. Lucky to escape with a draw in the end.
Ross Brown looked out of sorts and the game passed him by. Fleming still has some shaky moments but I wish he would use his height and come picking the ball out of the air.
On the plus side, Mcaleer did a lot of good running and a good finisher would have had a field day today.
Possibly missed Naysmth's steadying influence at times.

Re: Today's game

Agree we should have been up at least two goals at half time and we played well for the first half hour especially. Some good interplay by Kevin Smith and McAleer and decent spells of pressure. Their goal right on half time was a great free kick though and they were out of the blocks much better than us after half time and deserved their 2nd goal. Midfield went missing for long periods and one or two players lost it completely. K Smith tired,we couldn't get McAleer into the game enough and Fleming made a couple of brilliant saves to keep us in it. Put pressure on the last 15 though and Liam Smith took his goal really well, thought we might just have sneaked at the end as we had chances to win. Draw fair enough result in the end.

We looked really good at some points today and worrying at other times. There is a lot of work to do if we are to challenge at top end of the table.
