Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Greig McDonald

Stirling Albion can announce that our management team of Greig McDonald and Marc McCulloch have resigned in the wake of this afternoon’s 4-0 defeat to Stenhousemuir. A further statement will be issued by the club in due course.

Re: Greig McDonald

IM SURE IF THE BOARD WENT TO GARY NAYSMITH AND SAID LOOK GARY WE DONT THINK ITS WORKING OUT WE HAVE MCDONALD A CLUB LEGEND WANTING TO TAKE THE HEALM INSTEAD, THEN GARY WOULD PROB LEAVE WITHOUT COMPO AND WE CAN HAVE THE MANAGER EVERYBODY WANTS INSTEAD FOR PROB HALF THE WAGES

There is absolutely no chance GN will walk quietly and accept managerial failure.
If he's pushed he'll go but he'll take the compo with him.
He MUST see this as the season that will 'make' or 'break' him as a manager. Its his team and he's depending on them to get him and the club out of this average basement league. Just can't see this happening this season.

Re: Greig McDonald

I`m not fussed if McDonald was Manager or not. However, Naysmith has to start getting results from his team and November is a crucial month.

Why on earth would we want McDonald as a manager? Great servant but he's hardly got a good managerial record! Awful in our league, won promotion via the play-offs against a poor East Fife, currently bottom of the league and effectively sacked. Judt the standard we need and are used to...

Spot on.

Expect him to be appointed within the week

Re: Greig McDonald

At the moment of time Gary naysmith side hasn't had much luck this season part for a run in the challenge cup and we're knocked out by Rangers. I wouldn't like to see other managerial change at the moment and I have to say we have a small squad to play with at the moment with many players out injured hopefully we can clear that up and get a decent run.
I love to see the return of a east fife legend as manager a man who is loved by supporters at his time with us but I worry about Torro experience through promotion via play-offs with a win at bayview is his only achievement it's 50/50 chance if he would cut it in manager at east fife if GN was to be sacked or would we go for a dave baikie/Robbo type someone in the game and has had decent managerial experience at clubs and if Derek Adams isn't employed would defo want him to make us a Ross County type team in fife to lead the club.
But at the moment don't want another managerial change at the moment am sure once players are avaliable for selection and off the sidelines we will pick up wins.
We shall see let's back the Fife.
