Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Update from EFSS

EFSS and EFFC
The EFSS Working Group have continued to try to negotiate with the current club directors in order to ensure fan involvement in the proposed new ownership of East Fife FC.
We have made it clear to the board that we cannot ask anyone to support their bid financially unless there is greater clarity about the club finances.
Our next step is a meeting with the club directors on Tuesday 9th December. To ensure that this time is usefully spent we have sent the club a number of questions relating to the situation.

We have specifically asked about:
1 FAN REPRESENTATION
We are seeking clarification about future representation of the EFSS both on the proposed Community Board and on the main board of the club.

2 HOLDING COMPANY
We need to know what the current legal status of this company is and it is essential that its future workings are transparent, especially where the allocation of risk and shares are concerned.

3 PURCHASE OF MAJORITY SHAREHOLDING
There are several issues here including what stage the purchase is at, the time period and payment plan, and the current or future sale of any club assets.

4 CLUB FINANCES
It is crucial that we have accurate information about the current financial situation along with details of the directors’ future plans to ensure our club remains solvent.

HOW WE WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED
Once we’ve had the meeting with the directors on December 9th the Working Group will meet to put together a summary of the club directors’ responses along with our own suggestions for a way forward. The date for this meeting is December 11th.
We will circulate this report on or before 18th December and we will invite comments/suggestions on its contents.
We will then hold a meeting open to all supporters to discuss the issues and to agree what actions should be taken in terms of financial and other involvement with the club. This meeting is scheduled for 19.00 on Thursday 8th January and we will confirm details before then. The later part of the meeting will also form the AGM of the EFSS.
We have delayed this until after New year as the party season is upon us which affects people’s availability and we also feel there is no need to rush matters.

OUR POSITION
Our position is quite simply that the Working Group cannot possibly take any actions without the backing of supporters. It is not for us to decide the way forward. Our job is to ensure that everyone has as much information as possible and to organise matters with transparency. At the end of the day the level of supporters’ involvement with EFFC will be decided by supporters. For that reason it is vital that over the next few weeks everyone concerned keeps themselves informed and comes to a view about what they think is the best way forward.

Please feel free to forward this to anyone you think may be interested.

Thanks.

Re: Update from EFSS

Thanks for the update and i wish you`s all the very best. Clearly things are not right behind the scenes and hopefully the truth will come out and we can be proud of our club again.

Re: Update from EFSS

It's turned into a farce when the current directors won't ask basic questions! They know perfectly well that we're in debt for the simple reason that any profits made have been siphoned out the club. The supporters are not daft, clearly too many problems remain hidden. Hopefully all will be more clear after meeting on 9th December.
