Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

Can anyone remember the name of the bloke that used to go on the supporters bus. Sat near the front, bit of an arrogant sort, around the 60 age mark and I`m sure he complained about swearing on the bus. Maybe that`s why he stopped going.
Think he worked/works off-shore.

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

Why are you hunting for him?

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

No not really. Just wondering what happened to him. Maybe another lapsed supporter? Maybe he posts on here but I wouldn`t know as I don`t know his name.

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

Did he have any friends?

Or did he come on his own?

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

Sounds like your talking about Paul Galloway.Doesnt go anymore, right soor pussed bastard.Totally up his ain erse.

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

Nah, that's not him. Might be Jimmy Patterson you are talking about.

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

Don't think it's Paul.

His hair might make him look like he's in his late 60s but I think he's just in his mid 50s.

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

At last, some humour on AFTN!

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

I remember the guy the OP was talking about.

Didn't seem to have a clue what was going on and missed the point a lot. Definitely seemed not to be on the same wavelength as the rest of the fans on the bus.

Didn't he just keep rambling on about estate agents and Robinson Crusoe? Or maybe I imagined that.

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

I'm sure I know who this bloke is. Very opinionated but usually always wrong.

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

Is he a former estate agent?

The guy I'm thinking of works in a big company that also happens to have 47 other east Fife fans.

Didn't he play the drums as well.

Did he tend to talk a lot of shite, take contrary views from the rest of the bus and get easily rattled??

Re: Ex Supporters Bus Attendee

Thing is. This John Doe has at least put his money where his mouth is: buying programs, pies, player sponsorship.

When he was on the bus, did he every have conversations with himself - making a point then backing it up in a different voice?

Don't know, but I'm really sure it was very hard for him to get to games though, even the home games were like hard away games!

Maybe that's why he finally cracked up?
