Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Friendly v Dundee --OFF

Friendly Match - Match OFF

05 February 2015
2

We have cancelled our friendly match versus Dundee FC scheduled for Friday 6th February 2015, due to a frozen pitch.

Re: Friendly v Dundee --OFF

Frozen pitch???? We have had the mildest few days in weeks. Surely the pich can't be frozen!!!!!!!

Re: Friendly v Dundee --OFF

Are you on another planet son ground has been frozen
for 2 weeks.

See all that white frosty stuff we have had and
the north chill wind thats been keeping the
temp low.you need temps to stay up at 7 to
10 degrees to take the frost out the ground

That is all.

Re: Friendly v Dundee --OFF

So it's been frosty for 2 weeks? Has there been any games at all then. There has on my planet.

Re: Friendly v Dundee --OFF

Maybe the pitch is the strip of land we sold to Rankine?

Re: Friendly v Dundee --OFF

Hey mister Who Is He are you still out there? Guess what, I was watching an amateur game yesterday and they surely didn't know either that it needs days at 7 to 10 degrees for the ground to thaw out and play.

If you had half a brain and knew what you are talking about you would realise at Bayview there is a portion of the ground on the stand-side that does not get the sun and that is the part that never thaws as opposed to any other park in the area. You must be the only person in Methil does not realise this, try and engage your brain before your fingers touch the keyboard next time.
