Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Step in right direction

Great to see Trust and Directors working together to secure a new 3G pitch that will only benefit the club but the whole area. A facility that can be used 7 days a week by various groups can only be a good thing for the club and the wider area. No more games put off due to frozen parks will mean a steady and reliable income stream.

Their willingness to work together can only be good for future discussions between the two groups who in reality have far more in common than some of the rhetoric suggests, let's hope the councillors, council officials and sceptics can show the same level of commitment as the two groups have.

Well done to all involved.

Forget the 3G pitch. Summer football is the answer.

True but at the moment the rules won't change in scotland. Scotland football goes on through winter climates and it's important we have a 3G pitch and follow montrose, forfar, alloa, stenny and annan in having a 3G pitch in these climates it's the only solution to our problem and way forward to not see a backlog fixtures due to frozen or waterlogged pitch and see income at east fife fc will benefit the club now.
