Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Update from EFSS

Reminder and Details of Meeting with Directors

Key Points

a meeting was held with club directors
no change in their bid as yet
future talks agreed
artificial pitch in danger

Introduction
This is a short update. A more detailed one will be sent out following Saturday's meeting

Meeting with Club Directors
A meeting was finally held on Thursday morning between three of the club directors (Mr Stevenson unfortunately is unwell) and Allan, Liam, Stephen and Eugene of the EFSS.
We asked them to withdraw their bid at least temporarily but they felt that their legal processes had gone too far for them to consider this at this stage. They were willing to meet with EFSS again after Saturday's meeting to consider the matter again once the level of supporter input is clearer. This also applied to our request that they lower their bid in view of the land sale. Despite this the meeting was constructive and we feel it is still worthwhile engaging with them though of course if our supporters feel strongly that we should not then that would affect matters.

Artificial Pitch
Both parties agreed to work together to try to ensure that this should be installed at Bayview rather than George V park. It seems that at least one local councillor is adamant that we should not get this facility and we feel all supporters should work together to ensure that he does not get his way. We will releasing more details of our campaign shortly and in the meantime will be putting aside our differences with the EFFC directors and working together with them on this project.

FINALLY....
Just to remind you of our public meeting on Saturday 21st February at around 17.00 after the Clyde match. It's being held in the same place as our previous meetings, in the Fife Renewables Innovation Centre just across from Bayview

Thanks and Best Wishes.
