Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

land sale and share purchase

Shambles and confused are words I would apply to the present situation. One confusion is at the early stages EFSS stated they had permission of the majority shareholders for full disclosure of financial info but later the directors stated they needed permission and full disclosure would be available after the AGM. Did we not already have this or was it rescinded?

Another confusion is the "directors' bid". I thought it was a bid by 4 directors but not on behalf of EFFC but as individuals with the intent of setting up a holding trust to hold the shares.( Livingston has a similar arrangement with Rankine as the major shareholder in the secondary company and look what is happening to them.) If that is the case they are not acting as directors and so gang of four bid would be more appropriate than directors' bid?

However this could be construed in some way as a conflict of interest. Although the land sale and share purchase have been portrayed as separate, the sale of land could affect the share price despite some objections to this point of view. There seems to be lots of unanswered questions. One of which is have the directors acted in the best interests of EFFC as a whole and if not are they liable for prosecution?

Re: land sale and share purchase

indeed.
