Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Whoever said it would be easy? It is East Fife!

Re: !

Certainly should have been a lot easier than it has been. For Arbroath to have won 1 game this year and still be 3rd shows how poor everyone else is.
The level of our performances over the season has been so inconsistent with only a handful of acceptable performances. Yes, we have had injuries but so has every other team. We are so, so lucky to be still in 4th place.

Not too fussed if we don`t secure 4th and get promoted. That way we can start afresh with a new management team in place for next season. Couldn`t for the life of me imagine how negative Naysmith and Anderson would be in a higher division.

East Fife don't deserve to go up regardless as to whether we finish 4th. Fully expect us to get fucked over if we make playoffs which i doubt we will.
Agree about the new management though. Badly needed unless we want another season like this one.
Hats of to the directors and management though. They sure know how to fuck up a football club and give the paltry support absolutely fuck all to look forward to.

cnuts the lot of them.

Anderson is out of his depth. I could never understand why Gary kept him on. It was one of Gary's most significant mistakes not to have a better assistant, because what he needed was a guiding influence, not someone who knows less about the game than he knows himself.
The decision was a bad mistake by Gary but at its root was naivety. Gary could be a very good manager. But he will not become one without the right kind of help, and there is no one at East Fife at the moment who is going to be that person. He needs someone who can build his confidence.
