Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

The season ahead: (Clyde style team numbers) & Team photo required?

Since I noticed clyde have now officially numbered their squad from 1-30 for the forthcoming season 2015/16, will we be taking part numbering our squad like the champions league/europe style. Also team photo I don't think we had one last season?& nice to have the squad lining up with purple away tops & the other lot in yellow and black sleeves once we get the mechandise in. What you think?

Re: The season ahead: (Clyde style team numbers) & Team photo required?

Yes a new team photo would be good as we have a few new players, they did take a team photo last year but dont think I ever seen it on Website. They were on sale in the club shop. Hopefully we'll see a new one soon once all the new kit is here!!

Re: The season ahead: (Clyde style team numbers) & Team photo required?

I have heard that we will be using squad numbers again this season. I would imagine that a number of the players may want to retain the numbers they had last season but it's the gaffer who allocates them.
Again I would think that the team pics will be taken on the morning of the Dumbarton game or more likely the Elgin City game.

Are these what numbers the players will be next season?

I'd imagine page will want to take 24, mullen 2 and Walker 6 plus a few others

Please no squad numbers again. It's a total waste of time and money at this level. We ended up reusing numbers last season as players came and went, and only had them on the home kits in any case. Even then they didn't put numbers on the shorts to avoid having to buy so many.
