Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Re: New Signing

East Fife are delighted to announce that a further two players, Craig Sutherland (pictured left) and Jason Kerr, have now agreed to join the club.

Edinburgh-born Craig Sutherland’s first senior club was non-league Spartans, who he joined as a seventeen-year-old in 2007. After one season’s involvement with the youth set-up at the Ainslie Park, the striker took up a soccer scholarship at the Midwestern State University in Texas, USA, before moving on to North Carolina State University. Craig returned across the Atlantic in 2011 to sign for Blackpool, for whom he made seven appearances. During his time at Bloomfield Road, Craig made nine appearances on loan with Plymouth Argyle, for whom he scored his first senior goal. Following a brief spell on the books of Woking, Craig moved back to Scotland to sign for Queen’s Park, before moving on to Cowdenbeath, then Stenhousemuir. Twenty-six-year-old Craig has now agreed to put pen to paper for East Fife after impressing in the club’s pre-season friendlies and, judging by his career to date, brings a wealth of experience to Bayview Stadium.

Eighteen-year-old Jason Kerr (pictured above right) was part of St Johnstone’s Development Squad during last season, and has signed for East Fife on loan until January 2016. Playing a central defensive role for Saints’ development side last term, Jason displayed his versatility by scoring on five occasions, including two goals in a 3-2 victory against Kilmarnock!

We would like to extend a warm welcome to both players, and wish them every success during their time with East Fife.

Craig Sutherland signed too

Excellent coup bringing in suthie, never got a run of games at stenny last season but has played at a high level before including Blackpool I hope he has found his level with us I thought he deserved his deal and we can use his experience to call up on as back-up to fash and smith. I see naysmith has went into the loan market another development loan another area where we were short at CB with O'Kane decent in there too to partner Pagey with Campbell still to return from his op this is positive. All the best to these two and no doubt naysmith loan buys he uses that option well and will help kerr like he did with Liam am happy that naysmith stayed on the only manager to use the contact book and get bargains even whatever our budget is at the moment.
