Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Transfer window

I know we're going well at the moment. I still feel the squad needs strengthening.
Any news of any activity before transfer window closes?

Re: Transfer window

I'd imagine Nathan Austin is locked in a cupboard somewhere in Bayview...

Re: Transfer window

Are you saying he'll be "coming out the closet" before Saturday???

Re: Transfer window

Hopefully we can keep Fash.Would not surprise me if we bring someone in(on loan)

Re: Transfer window

I still think we could do with another forward to three we have someone looking to go on-loan or maybe see what Leyden is upto at thistle.

According to Twitter Naysmith turned down the chance to sign someone on loan. Odd one but maybe it's to do with not wanting to disrupt the squad with how well we've done so far. Although I feel that the squad is very low on numbers right now and one more loan signing wouldn't have hurt?

Have you considered how this "wouldn't have hurt" signing would have affected the club's budget?

We can make emergency loan signings at any point in the season if we need to so why bring someone in just for the sake of it now? Full time clubs loan young boys out and expect them to play, and it must be a hard enough job picking the team the way everyone is playing at the moment. If we find ourselves short later in the season I'm sure the manager will bring one or two in on loan, these transfer deadlines are only relevant to clubs who buy and sell players.
