Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Club Idea? East Fife Legends Match? Fans charity sleepover event?

Recent years clubs such as Manchester United, Celtic, Rangers have legends games where players able to play and still with us at present can play and raise money, open to public to play a match against another club legends team? At Bayview stadium I don't know if this was ever done or happen but would raise a few pound and idea for club to look into.
Get likes of Greig McDonald, Jim Butter, Garry o corner , Craig Wright, Craig o Reilly, shagger, jay smart, Michael hall, deuchar, Nicholas, div muir and manager Dave baikie.
Or another idea is that fans get together to take part in a event for the community/ homeless leading upto winter to sleep out for the night to raise money for the community at the stadium, everyone taking part will have a chance of a guide tour of Bayview stadium and meet one of the East Fife player, this would be volunteering for a day and won't be Saturday event. 40 quid for the event entry and tea and biscuits, bar upstairs only can be used until 12.
Players and coaches midweek weekly Q and A session on EFTV shown on website? Where players can interact with fans and answer questions.
How season tickets are no longer a bit of a paper for each game when the club can scan a credit card type season ticket with name and address at turnstiles saves paper use and how popular things would be.

Re: Club Idea? East Fife Legends Match? Fans charity sleepover event?

Excellent ideas, although the Legends game may bring with it a nightmare around liability and insurance, although the Whitecaps here in Vancouver do a media match every year where we have to sign waivers for any bad things happening, so would be a way around it.

The community involvement from clubs over in North America is excellent and would be good to see East Fife more involved in such aspects, although more difficult with part time players.
