Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

East Fife v Montrose

So today we play a team we always beat comfortably. Anything less than 3 points and I think this season in terms of the promotion play-offs can be written off.

We need to get back on track, starting this afternoon. Let's hope we start on the front foot and let the opposition worry about us not the other way round.

Re: East Fife v Montrose

Big day for every East Fife player today, they need to prove they want to play for the manager. We will all be expecting desire to win the ball, win their personal battles and work their socks off, minimum. Cmon the Fife

Re: East Fife v Montrose

There was never anything better than a buzz on a Saturday morning knowing it was match day. Now I doubt if there will be many fans heading along to Bayview today with any kind of buzz. The lack of drive, leadership and direction is mirrored from the boardroom, management and fans alike. We have went from an established league one side to having only won one game in ten against 2nd division opposition. For any doubt or complication make no mistake a football manager is only judged on winning football matches and nothing else, just ask the special one. The management are backing the players and telling the fans there is talent in the squad. The only thing ill say about that is in most games I have watched hard working opposition has easily beaten potential talent. My biggest observation is we absolutely do nothing when we don't have the ball. The opposition allowed to go forward and pick crosses into the box far to easily. The fans have lost a purpose to go along to Bayview as there is no engagement from the owner or the board of directors. The next 3 games are crucial and with only 4 teams below us defeat in these games could leave us in a dog fight for league survival. We cant afford any more half hearted performances or the consequences are too frightening to consider. Gary must get more out of these players who they say are talented yet forget how to win football games. Lets hope for something to bring a smile back to our faces on a Saturday night.

1.1 ft. Good wins for Berwick and Arbroath today. Relegation battle looking likely.

Re: East Fife v Montrose

Rubbish result. If we cannae beat Montrose at home then we can forget about the promotion playoffs and start campaigning to avoid relegation and pretty much the end of our once proud football club.
If Gary has any decency he will step aside as we are going backwards.

Re: East Fife v Montrose

As soon as we started playing the ball wide, we started creating chances and dominating. Mr Naysmith take note.

Re: East Fife v Montrose

All we read about in the papers is how many one on ones against the goalie Austin misses. Not having a go at the young lad but are they practising one ones during training?
