Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Re: Latest Score

Good, competent performance from the Fife today against a big, strong, stuffy Shire side, who tried and failed to kick the Fife off the park, hence the 5 bookings, not 3 as the BBC indicated. I thought Gary got his tactics spot on for once playing down the flanks and through midfield instead of the big punt up to Fash, who was obviously up against it, marked by six foot five Townsley. The defence were different class today resulting in Liam not having a save to make all game. Kyle, again had a great game, holding the ball in his usual brilliant fashion and is now standing up to the plate by having a go at goal, and proved by scoring that if you have a go they will eventually go in. As for young Ali Coote, what a find. In the few minutes he was on he showed skill and confidence way beyond his 17 years and took his goal well. Gary played him on the left wing and with Ross on the right it gave us so much width, which was needed against a Shire defence of 5 six footers. Make no mistake, although Shire are bottom of the league, I feel they are a much better team than that and makes our result and performance against them all the more satisfying. Bring on the Clyde.
