Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Gary Locke

From what we are hearing there are unlikely to be any further additions to the playing staff in the January Transfer window. However, with Gary Locke having parted company with Kilmarnock yesterday, would it be in our interest to invite him in to help with coaching sessions and be the Coach on the sidelines. No disrespect intended towards Dougie Anderson who I believe is very good at the analysis side of the game but seems limited in his input from the touch line.
Locke may be willing to come along just to stay involved in the game and he is friendly with Gary. I'm sure his experience and knowledge could be a valuable addition to our staff as we make our push for promotion but he could also benefit Gary Naysmith in terms of his development as a manager. Just a thought !

Re: Gary Locke

Have you watched Killie defending? They couldn't keep hens out a close.
And when Locke was at Hearts he didn't have the tactical nous to hold onto a 2-1 lead against 9 man Caley Thistle in a league cup semi.
Your man Naysmith seems to have steadied the ship a bit - surely you're better to leave well alone and hope he can prove himself a level up next season.

Re: Gary Locke

still think when Gary is on the pitch helping others we lack experience off the pitch from the dugout i know we have Anderson like you have said has good feedback and analyst and connon as goalie coach but we lack a leader, expreince and communication get through the whole team while Gary plays in matches be nice we add to the backroom and invite Locke in on the coaching side under Gary we'll need it next season if we're promoted.
