Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Re: Sister club

Somebody fi Cowdengelly picking me up on my spelling..

How on earth can I ever live that down.

Wee boy fi Cowdengelly was asked by his teacher to spell weather. He went W E T H E R. Teacher says that the worst spell of weather we have had for ages.

We Jimmy fi Cowdengelly was asked by his teacher to spell King. But miss he said we don't have a king in this country. Just spell King she said. So Jimmy said K F I N G. Teacher said Jimmy there's no f in King. Jimmy says miss that's what I' ve been trying to tell you

Re: Sister club

Your jokes are better than your spelling.

Re: Sister club

Ok Cowdengelly. Own up. Who is reading the posts out to you? Is it a missionary?

Re: Sister club

Out of interest when did you play for Savoy Hearts as I was friendly with a guy that played with them in the 1980's Kenny Harley he married the team managers daughter then.

Re: Sister club

Yeh I know Kenny Harley but I only played a few times in the same team. I know his father in law, the manager, better cos I played against and alongside him many a time.

Re: Sister club

By the way Cowdengelly, I enjoyed the banter with you, Cheers

Re: Sister club

No problem it's the way football should be.

Re: Sister club

It's a relief that this thread is only about a flag.

When I saw the title, I thought it maybe had something to do with incest in Denbeath and Kirkland.

Re: Sister club

Trust DysartLino to lower the tone. Tells a lot about his own mindset.

Re: Sister club

On a serious note many folk would citeEast Fife & Preston North End as linked clubs 9due to them being the Scottish and English cup winners in 38.
More recently our sister club is whoever else The Rankin Full stop also owns.

Re: Sister club

Aye Dysart Lino tells a tale 1) they don't make lino in Dysart 2) they used to make carpets in Dysart. So lino before making any improper suggestions get you geography and history correct.

Re: Sister club

Dysart is reknowned for one individual only - World Darts Champion and EFFC fan Jocky Wilson

Re: Sister club

Jocky never stayed in Dysart - he was born in St Andrews before moving to Chinatown in Kirkcaldy (behind the Lino factory).
He did stay in Dysart Road for a while (next to the Strathearn Hotel) and was allegedly a Rangers fan.
His grandson Billy however is a big Rovers fan.
