Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Things you'll do when Derrick goes

Apart from the obvious throw a party/get steaming!

1.Buy a season ticket next season.

2.Buy both home and away jerseys next season.

3.Use the club facilities as much as possible.

4.Try and "convert" some of my pals who have expressed an interest in the past, but I wouldn't dare bring them to Bayview at present cos they'd never come back.

5.Offer my services, free of charge, working on the pitch if the two Davies needed cover at any point.

Re: Things you'll do when Derrick goes

Personally, I think the club would need all assistance possible to try and help set up a structure that means the club operates without the need for any single individual to be there as often as Derrick obviously is.

It is a reasonably diverse enterprise, even tho the income generated is low, therefore it is up to anyone who has maybe claimed to be willing to offer help and assistance if things change, to be there ready to offer the assistance required and help move the club forward.

Only personal views, blah blah

Re: Things you'll do when Derrick goes

1. Go Back to Bayview
2. Get a season ticket
3. Spend a whack on merchandise
4. Drag family/friends to the games

Re: Things you'll do when Derrick goes

Shake my head in ironic disbelief as I read in the papers how Burntisland Shipyard's new director Derrick Brown has described how he's been a Shipyard fan for over 50 years.
