Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Chaps, chaps, chaps...

Calm down.

Nothing has changed on paper since the weekend, but once again the protests have had an impact.
1 The meeting next week. A reaction to the demo. No doubt about it.
2 The Rae rumour.
Three possibilities in my mind.

(a) Mischief making/ spin doctoring by the club.
(b) A shift in power. However you view the idea of Rae as player-manager, this is not Brown's style. If this is true, Brown is no longer calling the shots.
(c) Total nonsense. No foundation to it at all. In The Know is at the capers.

I'm not 100% convinced but I think something is up behind the scenes and I tend to trust the apparent source of this information.
I'm also not entirely convinced about the wisdom of appointing a full-time rookie player boss but I'm intrigued about a sudden swing away from the most banal, blinkered, anal style of directorship imaginable to this appointment.

As for the protests. Nothing has changed so our strategy should not change. Keep boxing clever. One way or another Brown is rattled and that, my friends is good news.

Spring will be ours!!!!

Re: Chaps, chaps, chaps...

Wasn't Steve Archibald a rookie player-boss?

Re: Chaps, chaps, chaps...

Comparing Steve Archibald and Alex Rae is a bit like comparing Jermey Paxman with Keith Chegwin

Peter.
It is not mischief by the club.
I agree with your opinion regarding a shift in power.
