Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

new manager-scott crabbe

Re: new manager

Why do we continue to tout inexperienced managers ,appreciate there is difficulty with present regime and coming to work for them.Personally dont have a problem with a John Connelly or Henry Hall (both tactically astute )coming in.Tried and trusted is it not time the board put faith and laid down a 3 year plan ie youth development etc and went with it.?

Re: new manager

According to today's Sunday Mail, Crabbe will be named the new manager this week.

Re: new manager

Maybe thats why brown is calling a metting on monday, trying to dispell the protest, taking away the flak from himself he hopes.

Re: new manager

If we went with Henry Hall at least he would know a lot the players as they are mostly from Montrose. They would also know that they were'nt good enough for him at Montrose.

HMmmm where would that leave us.

Re: new manager

Very possibly but he needs to understand that this would change nothing with the protest.

Whoever the manager is, the protests will continue until he's gone.

We're in it for the duration.

Re: new manager

Sounds like a Willie Gray appointment, if it's another step towards Derrick going then i'm all for it.

Re: new manager

Must say I'm bitterly dissappointed, but the guy deserves a chance before we start baying for his head on a plate. You never know, pigs might fly, I might win the lottery, Elvis might still be alive, etc.

Re: new manager

Re: new manager

Here was me thinking that the apointment was taking so long due to the future Manager still being involved in the Cup. No Derrick, I don't mean Graham Rix because he may not be a suitable candidate in your eyes !!!! An ex-player as Assistant Manager ????

Re: new manager

The appointment of Crabbe looks pretty certain by the looks of things. 'In the Know' - care to comment about Alex Rae please?

Re: new manager

trust me this 1 is not goin to happin i would put ma house on it as i know it all. scott crabbe wont be our next manager ill take bets now.

Re: new manager

If sott crabbe does go to the fife, then believe me that is a great appointment!
A true proffesional and a very popular player.

Re: new manager

Just off the phone to Scott who tells me that no way is he going to East Fife, but did say that he had been approached but declined the offer to manage East Fife. So your search goes on lads!

Re: new manager

Scott who?

Re: new manager

it would be a side ways move anyway.....

Re: new manager

Oh ye of little faith!!!

Re: new manager

From The Courier...

Methil chairman Derrick Brown yesterday dismissed reports that the club is to appoint Raith Rovers striker Scott Crabbe as manager this week.

Brown insisted that he has not spoken to Crabbe and added that there was unlikely to be any announcement on a new manager before the weekend.

Re: new manager

I heard at the weekend that after a conversation with Brown last week Dennis Newall has withrdawn his application for the job, maybe he thought EFFC would be harder than the shire having to work under brown. Don't know the real reason, but makes you wonder who will really want to take this job when the ex Shire boss dosn't want it. Believe he had lined up Ally Graham and Gary Bolan to come in with him. I think with the limited resources that will be given to the new manager that trio would be as good as we'll get with Bolan playing and on the staff
