Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Spotlight on Derrick in Sunday Mail (Again!).

19 February 2006

GENIE'S OUT THE BOTTLE DERRICK
Gordon Waddell

ANOTHER SFA meeting, another delay in deciding if Graham Rix should be passed a "fit and proper person" to grace Scottish football.
The SFA are seemingly terrified of he legal ramifications of any decision they make and it's costing them an absolute mint in lawyers' bills.
I hope East Fife chairman Derrick Brown now realises what happens when you let the genie out of the bottle.
Because if you start looking at one man's credentials so closely you need to make sure EVERYONE else is clean.
Brown must be so proud of himself for starting something no-one knows how to finish.
Mind you his performance at East Fife is just as ludicrous.
Fans conducted a peaceful protest at his running of their club last week on a big mound overlooking New Bayview.
So what does he do? He hires a bulldozer to flatten the mound so he can't see them from the stadium any more.

Nice one Mr Waddell

Re: Spotlight on Derrick in Sunday Mail (Again!).

I agree superb lets hope other papers will comment on it,DOWN WITH BROWN,

Re: Spotlight on Derrick in Sunday Mail (Again!).

Maybe we should all take the opportunity to e-mail Gordon Waddell and thank him for mentioning the current situation - and maybe a few others may give us publicity. E-mail - g.waddell@sundaymail.co.uk

Re: Spotlight on Derrick in Sunday Mail (Again!).

I see East Fife supporter and former Kennoway boy Brian Lironi is the now the political editor of the Sunday Mail. He's gone up in the world, I last saw him lurking furtively outside the Scottish parliament, waiting to ambush some wayward MSP.
