Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

A Supporters Plea to Derrick Brown

Derrick
As was stated at one point in the meeting last night, you are to be commended for the work you have done to stabilise the Club financially since you became Chairman. But just like Jim Moffat who took us to promotion in his first season, you have taken the Club as far as you can. If you are one of East Fife's
biggest supporters you would be able to see that the time for change has come. Let supporters remember you for getting the Club out of its financial mess not for driving away many other fans by continuing past your sell-by date.
Let someone else have a turn at leading the Club forward in an attempt to drive us on and allow local businesses to invest in our Club. Do not forget this is OUR club (you included) NOT your Club. Any supporter of East Fife Football Club would do what they could in the best interests of the Club. You as a supporter should be able to see that you stepping aside would go a long way to helping to improving the harmony at the club and get everyone pulling in the same same direction i.e. the improvement of East Fife FC.
If you are indeed a big East Fife supporter you will step down and help the Club to move forward.

Re: A Supporters Plea to Derrick Brown

Nice try Bayviewboy, but I think this very sensible approach has been tried with Derrick Brown before.

Sadly this man doesn't care about the club, only himself, I therefore predict your plea to fall on deaf ears. I also predict continued protests and media recognition of them, leading to the eventual downfall of Derrick Brown.

I wait with the hope that I will be proved wrong and that he will leave of his own accord.

Re: A Supporters Plea to Derrick Brown

Let's face it, he's not going to leave so long as he's got a blazer from the SFA.

Maybe we need to ask them whether his current behaviour makes him a "fit and proper person" to be on the board of a football club.

Not that they'll care.
