Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Just a question

Why have things got this bad, is it really all derrick Browns fault?

Re: Just a question

All of it ......everything

NOT LONG TO GO NOW BROWN

Re: Just a question

What do you think Helen? Perhaps not all Browns fault but probably well in to 80%

Re: Just a question

In a sense, not entirely.
A succession of progressively worse administrations at Board room level have resulted in progressively desperate appointments as chairmen. There have, admittedly, been one or two interim incumbents prepared to hold the fort during times of crisis.
Throw in a declining economy for a community almost entirely dependant on the mining industry and disproportionate post-war success that provided virtually impossible expectations to live up to, it was never going to be easy.
And then, just when we thought it couldn't get any worse...

Re: Just a question

Look at at this way:

When Brown took over we had just achieved promotion.

A year later we had been relegated.

A year after that we were 10th in Division 3.

We have slipped down to 7th this year.

Season tickets sales have fallen.

Player sponsorships have fallen.

Advertising boards are less than last year.

Young Fifers have been criticised.

The Trust have been savaged.

The respected broadsheet The Scotsman has run a full page article questioning his ability to run a club.

He has been described as universally loathed in The Sunday Mail.

He has made racist remarks at a supporters club meeting.

He lied to shareholders and directed them to vote against allowing The Trust more shares at The AGM of EFFC.

He claimed supporters who enjoyed a pint or two at local hostelries before games were not true supporters.

He claimed to be more of a supporter than everyone else.

He operates under long term proxy from buddy Neil Rankines girlfriends daughters large shareholding whilst dismissing supporters money for shares.

Apart from all that it's not Derricks fault, it's the fans.

Re: Just a question

I think you can see what all the fuss is about now Helen the man is a liabilty and a liar, never mind the bulling of women volunteers.
