Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Mound Protest

Whilst not taking part in the protest I was disappointed that no photo of the protest on the Mound(RIP)for the East Stirling game was printed in the EFM. The only reason I could think for this was that one of the placards, the one with Derrick written vertically with one of his qualities commencing from each letter of his name, may have been derived as a touch sensitive for the EFM to print, and whilst all the qualities noted on the placard may be true, it seems a shame if this was the reason that no picture was printed. As Telly Savalas once sang (?)a picture paint a thousand words. This is not a criticism, only an observation.

Re: Mound Protest

The placard would not have been legible.

Re: Mound Protest

Possibly. But a wide-angle picture of the protesters would have shown the size of the protest without focusing on any individual placard.

Re: Mound Protest

Stuart, will you be joining us on Saturday?

Re: Mound Protest

Stuart is a diehard! He has not participated in the protest although he has secretly asked for my homemade 'Down With Brown' pictures! He has a very good seat(in throwing distance of Brown) but it will be unlikely he will give it up. Stuart will not want people to discover his place of residence! Stuart made a football team run from one venue to another whilst he drove along in his car tooting his horn! Very cruel! I urge you to throw your beloved season ticket at Brown and march your way to the mound!

Re: Mound Protest

Thanks for that Martin, I think, although I can't remember the incident your are referring to, I always thought I treated you guy's pretty well. As for the protest, Brown already has my cash, I do think there is a need for change, I do support your right to protest, and there was good support for the protest from within the ground at the East Stirling game especially when Brown made his usual exit five minutes before the end of the game to escape criticism, and I hope that, that will continue.

Re: Mound Protest

Sorry Stuart, but will you join us on the Mound tomorrow?
