Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Off The Ball

Did anyone hear Brooks Mileson on the Tam Cowan show yesterday (Saturday)?
They said Brooks was a sucker for a sad story and might just dip into his wallet to assist anyone with a problem. They asked listeners who thought Brooks couls assist them to call or e-mail the show.
Someone e-mailed to say that Derrick Brown had bulldozed the mound from outside East Fife's ground and could Brooks provide the funds to put it back.
Tam said "aye, apparently there's a wee hump where supporters have been gathering to protest at the East Fife Chairman, and he's had it removed".
Tam then went on to remind everyone that this was the same person who had tried to get Rix removed from Tynecastle.
"I'm a member of the Easst Fife Supporters Trust", said Brooks, "if he's done that, that's absolutely terrible".
So there you are Derrick. They're even making you out to be a complete ARSEHOLE on national radio now.
Are you embarrased? Or is it just another feather in your cap as you revel in your notoriety?
(And by the way, I heard this on the radio as I was travelling to watch a JUNIOR game south of Edinburgh. Yes, I would rather make a near 100 mile round trip to watch Juniors than give you my hard earned cash).

Re: Off The Ball

Why did`nt you join us on the mound then?

Re: Off The Ball

I don't go to the mound for the simple fact that, as I stated in my original post, in my opinion Derrick Brown is revelling in his notoriety. Believe me, he's loving every bit of this.
A small man who has tried all his life to be somebody, and now he's achieved it.
He's never out of the papers, he's occasionally mentioned on TV and radio, and now he's made it on to Off the Ball.
Everyone is entitlied to show their displeasure in any way they like, and I respect those supporters who choose to demonstrate from the mound.
However, I'd rather just ignore the wee bastard.

Re: Off The Ball

Fair point. Protesting isn't everyone's cup of tea. As long as fans respect each others decisions and reasons for not joining a protest then it will lead to a happier camp once brown has gone.
