Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Mr Brown

Not content with chasing away:

Former directors
Local businesses
Lifelong supporters

It now appears that no prospective new manager is willing to go anywhere near Bayview while you are in charge.

Just how low do we have go before you will accept responsibility for this pitiful state of affairs?

Re: Mr Brown

Why the pessimism Angus?

You never know, hopefully Barca will knock Chelski out of the champs league and Jose Mourinho will fancy a new challenge.

TBH as far as this season is concerned, having a new manager wont make a blind bit of difference, tho it would be better to have one in soon, if nothing else so he can assess who stays or goes for the start of next season.

Re: Mr Brown

I would like to see the new manager in place before the end of the season also, but it seems painfully obvious that no-one wants the job whilst Derrick Brown remains as Chairman.

Re: Mr Brown

And the award for the silliest question of the season so far goes to (drum roll)..........

Stewart K!!!!!

Re: Mr Brown

Look for Willie Gray having a big say as to who our next Manager is.

Re: Mr Brown

Please let it be Peter Hetherston... Or Le Fraude...

Re: Mr Brown

Assuming Brown goes I don't think it'll make much difference, he's already bringing in his ''own kind'' in the shape of Willie Grey. To all supporters who still attend games, myself included, we should accept that we're in it for the long haul.

I dont want to be the prophet of doom and gloom but I'd say that it'll be at least five years before this episode is behind us

Re: Mr Brown

Nice to see your ironing is under control Mrs P thus letting you come on here

TBH, I dont see anyone decent wanting it, unless they are really desperate.

Mind you, it could be that we are waiting for the outcome of Villareal - Rangers, and Mr Alex Rae.

Re: Mr Brown

There's a post on the RRFC forum saying that Hetherston's brother Brian has died, so he might be out of the running (if he was even in it)

Re: Mr Brown

What a sad state of affairs we are in.
Just a decade ago, as manager, we had Steve Archibald - ex Scotland International, played at the highest level with Spurs - winner of FA Cup [x2] and UEFA cup, moving on to Barcelona and Espanyol in Spain.
Now?? We cant attract anyone, to what seems to be a "poison chalice", not even a bloke who booted the sh*t oota somebody ootside a Dundee nightclub [although Mr. Baikie would still be my 1st choice!!]
Anyone know who is in the frame?? If it is PH, the end is nigh.......

Re: Mr Brown

I heard today gary bolan is in the running

Re: Mr Brown

In the running with those who can't disassociate themselves from Brown fast enough.
Newall, Connelly and Hannah all have a head start...

Re: Mr Brown

Not forgetting Billy Dodds's comments!

Re: Mr Brown

To be honest, if an unsuccessful ex-Shire manager doesn't want to be considered for the job then that shows how unattractive it is for anyone, never mind Billy Dodds, Alex Rae, Martin O'Neill, Roy Race or Nick Jarvis.

Still, as long as the major shareholders are happy with how their investment is going then screw the "customers" I guess.

Re: Mr Brown

No doubt the lying erse will spout his usual garbage, like the club have been surprised by the high quality of applications, blah, blah, blah.

Re: Mr Brown
