Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

The only way?

The only way I can see how the supporters can force Brown to quit and the get club to change direction for the better is for a boycott of all games, home and away!

All the marches, mound spectating etc is not making any difference, it appears, to Brown. The supporters who continue go into the ground need to waken up and stay away too. The protestors could canvass the supporters going into the ground and hopefully get them to stay away. Once the game starts though, we should all just go home, not got to the mound.

When the place has absolutely no atmosphere (not much left now anyway), something will have to be done. Okay, the players would suffer, but in the short term I think it would be worth it!

The march was a good idea and helped make some of the public aware, but I think if the ground was near empty, that would be the most powerful weapon we can use.

Re: The only way?

We have tried to persuade the fans who go to games to boycott but with no luck. I don't think the 100 or so who go to home games will be swayed to stay away, we just have to accept that. We need fresh ideas not just boycotting on the mound.

I will keep going to away games to support the players, they deserve it. It's been a horrible season and the players have done nothing wrong!

Re: The only way?

Letters to the SFA questioning the legitimacy of the Twigg/Rankine interest?

Re: The only way?

Don't jump to too many conclusions about the guys who choose to sit inside the ground. I hope the protestors would be the first to admit they've obtained some very useful 'intelligence' courtesy of some of these guys.

Also, there are plans afoot! Won't say too much on here cos 'forewarned is forearmed' and all that, but don't give up on 'The Insiders'.
