Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Wasting Police Time

3 police including a sergeant inside Hampden on top of the usual Rocksteady Crew.

Guess why?

Derrick Brown protesters.

What does he think we are going to do?

Police looked bored out of their skulls still at least least they get paid for it. Sergeant wasn't worried about the chicken just the wheelbarrow!

Re: Wasting Police Time

Tell us we played scintillating fitba Stewart. Should have won by five or six eh?

Re: Wasting Police Time

Not the best performance by us but a lot better than the 4-1 humping from the mutants.

Stewarts "Down With Brown" wins the award for the largest banner in Scottish Fitbaw.

Re: Wasting Police Time

Maybe there was extra security at Hampden because it is not the first time East Fife fans have been kicked out during a game.

Re: Wasting Police Time

If that was the case curios, then why has there never been a police presence (or segregation for that matter) at any of the games after the one you refer to? We must have been through there about half a dozen times without any of Strahclydes finest (or red & white tape) being needed.

The police were there because they were requested to be there from someone within EF & that came from one of the officers on duty (in between yawning & laughing).

Re: Wasting Police Time

It didn't have to be anyone at Bayview that requested to police, Queens officials would know of the troubles we've been having and they are responsible for what happens within their ground.

So even though nothing has happened for the past few games it most certainly could have at this one and what better stage could we have hoped for than the national stadium

Re: Wasting Police Time

From what I heard East Fife warned Queen's that there might be some distruption to the game if there wasn't a proper police prescence. So, Queen's taking the word of Brown, segregated the crowd to keep your fans together so that no-one could get at Brown or the pitch.

All seems a bit OTT to me.

Re: Wasting Police Time

Sounds like broon is getting a little paranoid!!!!
And making a complete arse of himself at Hampden, and we have only started the push to get him out.
THERE IS A LOT MORE TO COME BROON SO WHATCH OUT,WE WILL GET YOU OUT!

Re: Wasting Police Time

Is it yet more money that is being wasted due to Derrick Broons stubborn belief that he can hold on to power and ride out the storm? If he has hundreds of thousands to spend on shares and a nice house in Largo Road then how long before he has private bodyguards in tow? It would save public money being wasted on the Rozzers.

Apart from the chicken and wheelbarrow stunt there has never been any threats of disruption or violence towards Broon.

I'm sure both Fife and Strathclyde police now hold Derrick in the highest regard. Oh and Tayside too.

Re: Wasting Police Time

DB is losing the plot and is running scared. We must keep up the pressure on Saturday.
We will win this fight.

Re: Wasting Police Time

The segregation was obviously a hastily arranged affair. The tape appeared to be that used by the groundsmen to protect the pitch tied together to make it long enough. The notice to tell the "Away Support" where to go was scrawled in biro on a sheet of A4 paper and stuck to the wall with cellotape.
Derrick, that was a shameful way to treat the few loyal fans who overcame the apathy you have created and came to support the team.If you had treated the fans with a bit of respect during your time as Chairman there would have been four times as many of us there on Saturday and certainly no need for humiliating segregation.I remain surprised that some Board members are prepared to let that happen in their name, however, I remain hopeful that commonsense will prevail.

Re: Wasting Police Time

Who does DB think he is? Arranging police protection for himself and crowd segregation.
Was this to try and make him look big in front of his fellow blazer brigade right in the heart of the SFA headquarters. What an important man h must think he is.

Arrogant barsteward.
