Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Giving up

Note on another post Zak is giving up and writing EF out of his life.

This is sad but I sympathise and I am sure a lot of other supporters have already done this without publicising the fact. I have thought about it myself several times recently. I have been with the campaign to get rid of Brown since the start and even before. For over a year I have been posting about his negative influence on EFFC. Often I have been ignored or even told it was the wrong way to go.

Now we are well into the fight and hopefully the end is in sight. Still I get these feelings of despair. Will it happen? Will it be worth it? If Brown goes will we be jumping out of Brown's pot into Gray's fire? What repercussions will come about?

So for a couple of days I forget about EF and say enough is enough. Then I start to think of the positive outcomes. A successful team. A happy atmosphere at the club. Good relations between board and supporters. A board committed and able to push forward continued success towards the higher leagues. Positive progress towards improvements and an open handed attitude from the board. Progress towards increased involvement of the fans in the running of the club.

Tell me should I give up or continue to be part of a campaign to achieve the above?
