Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Baikie and the new chairman

However much we applaud the article in the Scotsman, it will put the new chairman in a tricky position. There will be a new chairman and soon. Can't see Brown wriggling out of the efforts of the protesters along with the support from the wider community and remaining in place.

Even if Brown goes the point about Baikie being a "fit and proper person" will still remain. So this along with many other of Brown's poor judgement and dire attitude to all and sundry will continue for some time. However with a person having common sense and the proper attitude to what running a football club is all about, I am sure we will overcome. Especially when he receives the enthusiastic support from all the fans who will be delighted at Brown's passing.

One thing I am pretty sure though from our meeting with him is that Gray is not that man.

Re: Baikie and the new chairman

Anyone else have the feeling that Baikie will not be our manager come the start of next season?

Re: Baikie and the new chairman

I'd like to see Baikie being given a chance, regardless of who the next chairman is. It's Broons sheer hard neck which is the issue here.

Re: Baikie and the new chairman

Bakie will not be the manager next season as his is on a week to week contract. He is looking for a position with another club that is not available until August.

Re: Baikie and the new chairman

Baikie will not get enough cash to build a team, and will leave soon. Given the lack of cash on the Board there is no chance of him staying. The only hope is Willie Gray, but he too will soon be shown the door.
