Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

EFFC through the years

At the end of the day I wanted to share some of my memories with you lesser supporters in a hope that one day you will see the light.

Re: EFFC through the years

Superb my man!

Re: EFFC through the years

You should not deface these great photos. Make him a laughing stock, fine, but not using players that we idolised.

Re: EFFC through the years

great picture against aberdeen-any more.

Re: EFFC through the years

The four Fife players pictured would walk into the present team.

Which is saying something as they must all be in their 70s by now

Re: EFFC through the years

Thats terrible saying Billy Mcphee Davie Gorman are in there 70s

Re: EFFC through the years

fifeyboab

the pictures are class

no matter who they were imposed on

Re: EFFC through the years

Doubt those players would be in their 70's, late 50's,60-ish maybe. Great photo - all those fab memories.

It appears that John Martis was really Derrick Broon in disguise then. And how I wish we had a Walter Borthwick type player now...

Re: EFFC through the years

Does anyone else remember the John Martis Testimonial around 1975 ?

His select team played a Fife Select at Bayview. In his X1 were players such as Bobby Charlton, Dixie Deans, Willie Mathieson etc. Still got humped 6-2 ! I'm sure Charlton scored a 25 yarder or is my memory playing tricks?

Re: EFFC through the years

Ok I agree and perhaps I did get carried away when I said that the players pictured would be in their 70s, sorry for any offence I may have cause to these old-timers. But, surely no one disagrees with me when I say that all four would walk into our present line up

Re: EFFC through the years

You're right re Charlton's goal, Shareholder.
