Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

O/T: T in the Park!

Tickets arrived this afternoon.

Not long to wait now. Should be a good un. Bit disappointed that a lot of what I want to see is on the main stage though as it makes for shitty sound and viewing.

Can't see how they're going to manage so many this year either as it was pretty crammed feeling last year.

Still, cannae wait

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

There is a massive advert for it in the form of Fresh as a... and lots of huge daisies on the hillside overlooking the M90 at Ferrytoll. I think Miss Twigg could almost see it from her house.

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

I saw them putting that up yesterday.

Was only half complete, so was very confused as to what it was for!

Now you've told me, I'm still confused!

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

Quite simple really, Samantha Twigg stays very close to said advert.

for line up times, some nice people have put them in speadsheet and pdf formats so you dont get robbed a fiver for those daft things you wear round your neck

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

Excellent AF but don't take those times as gospel.

Two years ago someone posted them and they were spot on. They'd got them from Regular Music as they were working there.

Last year someone did the same, claiming the same, and they'd just speculated and weren't spot on.

The times won't be far off though, so all you need to do is go to the info tent and make the amendments as soon as you get in.

Talking of which, hope it's not another hour and a half queuing nightmare before you get in on the Saturday Missed a couple of bands I wanted to see each day last year with queuing outside.

Weather looks like it's going to be good too

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

This is what they're saying but don't plan your whole weekend round these times!

Yes, but then again he may not.

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

Okay, someone's gotta do it...

"At the end of the day, I've been appearing at T In The Park for over 50 years, and if you think you're a bigger pint of shit lager than me, then I tell you, you are not, YOU ARE NOT!"

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

Kasabian now headlining Pet Sounds Arena on the Sunday

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

Did we all have a good time? Thought the Who were amazing - they've still got it, even if they are entitled to free bus travel.

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

Db could not make it to t in the park he had a council freebie on sat at beverigde park,I was just about to ask him when he was going but he buggered off,

Re: O/T: T in the Park!

Wasn't as good a line up as previous years but still some cracking bands on.

Think the Sunday was better of the two days. We Are Scientists, Dirty Pretty Things and The Strokes were all fantastic and Roger Daltrey's still got a strong voice for belting out their classics.

Gonna put a review and some pics up on Broken Down Halo site in next couple of days (hopefully tomorrow). If anyone wants to do their own personal review to put up then just mail it to me.

Just a final word on Dirty Pretty Things. The smackhead mau have got all the press from the Libs split but Carl Barat is one of the nicest guys you could meet, which we were lucky enough to do.

Him and the rest of the band spent two and a half hours signing stuff for their fans and having a good laugh and joke with us, when they could have been enjoying the free hospitality. Top guys
