Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

The 1938 Group - get involved

Part of the plans for a democratic, transparent and open club has included the idea of a group or committee of elected supporters which will hold monthly meetings with the new board to discuss anything and everything to do with the running of East Fife FC, from constructive criticism to ideas and suggestions on how to move the club forward and ensure that it is done in the most open of manners.

I thought the “1938 Group” sounded good, as for numbers ten seems a nice round figure, four of these places will be reserved for the Supporters Club, Supporters Trust, Young Fifers and East Fife ladies, who will be invited to appoint a member (however they choose to do so is entirely up to each group) to the group. These groups will be contacted formally in due course.

So what do we need to set the ball rolling? Well, we need you, the fans, to put your names forward if you want to stand for one of the six available places. The vote will hopefully be held on the first home game of the season, all being well, fans will be asked to put six crosses next to their choices from the list of names. If the group is a success, we can hold elections for places at the start of every new season to keep things fresh.

Any feedback on this would be appreciated, and all those interested be sure to get your names in. Email effc_1938_group@hotmail.co.uk if you would like to participate.

Should have added, just send your name, age and maybe a wee bit about yourself if you like

Re: The 1938 Group - get involved

Excellent idea - the club is and should be promoted as part of the community to ensure its future success - open dialogue can only help this.
