Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

David Craig and Fraser Beverige played as trialists as did McGowan.

We were 2-0 down at half-time.John Martin scored for us.

The game was better,played on a better pitch , than last Saturday's,watched by 20 or so of our fans.

East Fife were worth at the very least a draw. Whilst there is still a way to go particularily up front. There were many encouraging signs, we will certainly not be muscled out of any game and certainly more commitment from the players. I was impressed only minus was Deek was there. He is truly an ugly little s**t blocked the sunlight he did.

That was the old fashioned format for laying out a team!!!! We played 4-4-2.

David Craig is the veteran who played for a number of clubs.Not sure about Beveridge.

There isn't a lot to report in all honesty especially in the second half when a stream of substitutes came on.We had the better of a first half in which we played some decent football,but lost two goals,the first of which was a cracker.Even with all the attacks we mounted we didn't bother their keeper much and it is something we will have to improve.We more than held our own physically,something we haven't done in the last couple of seasons.

In the second half we again more than held our own but with all the subs there was no real flow to the game.Just before Martin's goal,Fortune hit the post with a header.It was Stephen who played John thru' wide on the right to run on and beat the keeper with ease.Should have been a draw really.

The only players to play the full 90 minutes were Courts(for the second time) and Blackadder.
