Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Fao All Durham Weekenders

Told tonight that the Chester-le Street game on Friday evening has been cancelled.
We will play Brandon United instead.
I have been reliably informed that Brandon is 3 miles from Chester-le -street.

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

Not according to the OFFICIAL *cough cough" website! I believe that, sorry Dave!

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

Just checked the map and I would say that Brandon is at least 10 miles from Chester-le Street.

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

Just checked their official website and it's a 7.45 kick off.

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

I'm almost certainly driving down on the Saturday -leaving Dundee then Largo about 9ish and returning straight after the game.

I've a couple of (3 at a pinch) spare seats.

Email me with a contact number at eugene@fsmail.net if anyon'es interested.

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

Any room for me Eugene? I'm was going to travel down with 100 women and the wider Levenmouth community, but they said there was no room for me.

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

Absolutely no problem Deek my friend.

You can squeeze in beside Williie Gray - I think he wants a wee chat anyway.

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

As long as that funderal director isn't there, he's threatened to put the final nail in my coffin and bury me

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

From the Brandon United web site:

WE NEED YOU - Volunteers wanted!
In order for the senior team to continue playing in the Northern League we need more people to become involved in the organisation and running of the football club.

Regardless of how much spare time you have available there are many opportunities to get involved with the club and give something back to football within the community.

If your able to offer some of your spare time in helping to develop and grow the club the please email us at ian@brandonunited.co.uk or call 0191 373 0940.

Get involved Help out. Have fun!!

Now THAT'S how a football club should be run!

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

I agree, but a few professionals with business acumen, commercial know-how and a feel for football's place within the local community are what's really at Bayview right now.

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

And they have a social club!

Re: Fao All Durham Weekenders

Brandon is just a few miles on from the Chester-Le-Street ground. Not sure of the exact distance but not as much as 10 and not as few as three. Either way its not far and not hard to find.

The one thing I can guarantee though is it will be a good, clean and entertaining game.
