Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Re: Durham City v East Fife

Thanks for this Jim. Sounds like a good tour results wise. Any info on the quality of the opposition?

Re: Durham City v East Fife

A good performasnce by us. Judging by what they pay their players and the standard of the facilties Durham are around our level.

We played some of the nest football I've seen us do over the last couple of years - good passing movements, defence beginning to look organised and lots of play down the wings.

The third goal in particular was a cracker with 3 one touch passes and a great finish by Jablonski (sp?)

The Friday game was less interesting as the pitch was very poor and the oppsition largely youngsters but again we were beginning to look like a football team.

All the chaps and chapesses behaved themselves impeccably on the trip and any anit-Broon protest was rstricted to a warm chorus of "Cheerio cheerio cheerio...etc" at the final whistle.

Let's hope DB's time as chairman will be ended by Thursday as most of us really want to be inside Bayview asap.

Incidentally I believe the following urls will shortly be available:

Re: Durham City v East Fife

In case anyone's missed the site update above, report and pics from Durham City game now up in the NEWS section of AFTN.

Re: Durham City v East Fife

Great pics Gof, cheers.

By the way the Willie Gray link doesn't seem to work

What did Baikie say as he was addressing the faithful in one of the photos ?

Re: Durham City v East Fife

Hmmm, maybe the link does work. It says "Willie Gray Outlines Plans To Fans" and when you click it nothing comes up.

Re: Durham City v East Fife

It's working now! I'd uploaded the news page link before the actual article!

Baikie basically just thanked the fans and told us that he'd be working hard to get a winning team and we'd be there or there about.

Re: Durham City v East Fife

Just in...new pic from Durham. Be grateful it's not a moving image!!!
