Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Deekwatch!

Some interesting tidbits from Durham around oor Deek

- On Friday night he went into the Brandon social club for a drink after the game and he was left standing at the bar on his own with hardly anyone saying two words to him, whilst everyone else mixed. A Brandon official thanked the East Fife fans and official party, Derek did not do the same in return and it was up to Dave Marshall to take the mike to do this

- The trip to Durham would not be happening if it wasn't for Willie Gray.

- On the Saturday Deek didn't even go into the social club after the game and chose to sit on the team bus all by himself! Only Betty occasionally went on the bus to see if he was ok presumably. He certainly appears isolated at the Club. I went to take a picture of him alone on the bus be he'd ducked down from view and the bus drove off to get something!

- On the Saturday night Deek was drinking in the pub Shakespeares and to quote one fan there "he looked a broken man". He was asked if he'd memorized his resignation speech for Monday. He then walked out of the pub with a glass and some of the fans told him they were going to phone the police to charge him with glass theft! They also tried to get the owner to contact East Fife but he wasn't really bothered

Full Durham reports and pics (some of them you really won't want to see!!!) will be up by early afternoon.

Re: Deekwatch!

Was our new director/saviour? there and if so did he have anything to say?

Re: Deekwatch!

Nah, Sid Collumbine wasn't there - just Willie, Davie H and Mr and Mrs Brown.

Re: Deekwatch!

So much for him and Wullie being best mates......
