I think it's clear that the vast majority of posters on this message board want Brown out now.

I think it also needs to be made clear that those who want Brown out are not just objecting on "a purely personal matter". To be honest, that is a patronising attitude to take towards protestors.

Those who want Brown out are sticking to their guns because they have not forgotten how damaging this individual can be to East Fife - in terms of the direction of the club, its lack progress, lack of leadership, bad public image, poor relations with customers and community, poor relations with the media etc etc etc etc.

He is disliked throughout Scottish football. Every time he represents the club he is in danger of blackening its name once more. Every time he opens his mouth he is likely to offend someone. Is this the person you want answering the phone at Bayview, or greeting newcomers? A man who does not give corporate hospitality guests the time of day? A man who will not communicate with a woman? A man who would not attend Bayview if there wasn't something in it for him (just try him and see).

Derrick Brown has made so many enemies inside and outside the club that, even if he was to change, it is too late - he is damaged goods. His reputation goes before him. His own failings and approach to the job have made him the unacceptable face of the club throughout Scottish football, not just on the mound.

The fact that he is a thoroughly dislikeable individual perhaps gives the impression that this is a matter of personalities. Please remember that most of us might not get on with him on a personal level, but that cannot be used to disguise the fact that we want him out because of the damage he has done in the name of EFFC.

I admit that all of this could become personal, after the suggestion that the money supporters will pay at the turnstiles will go directly towards paying Brown a salary.

But in the meantime, the bigger issue is not personal. This is about what is best for East Fife FC. It's public, not personal.

As has been said already, the quickest progress the club could make towards rebuilding its reputation and attracting back its own supporters is to remove him at the first opportunity.

Removal can be arranged. Not a problem...

Brown is so disliked by everybody that you have to wonder why on earth he would want to stick around and even his family are telling him there's nothing left here from what I gather.

Whilst he's involved in any capacity at all, there's always going to be conflict.
