Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Scottish Under 19's

Just watched on Eurosport, Scotland reaching the final of the under 19 european championships in Poland by beating the Czechs 1-0. Congratulations boys.

They meet Spain in the final on Saturday who won their semi today by 5-0 against the Austrians. The Spanish beat us 4-0 in the group qualifier last Thursday and they certainly look a very skilled and ruthless team but you never know and I hope the Scots learn from their mistakes in the first game.

Re: Scottish Under 19's

Brilliant !!!

Re: Scottish Under 19's

well done lads, good luck in the final.

Re: Scottish Under 19's

I'm thinking about going to Poland on Saturday but only if it's in Warsaw as I've got friends there. I'm either totally inept or the venue for the final is nowhere to be found online.

Does anyone know where it is going to be ?

Re: Scottish Under 19's

it's at the stadion mjieski in poznan. 8 o'clock kick off on saturday according to the official site.

Re: Scottish Under 19's

An excellent performance from the guys. Really thought they were going to take it into extra time.

That's them qualified for next year's Under-20 World Cup in Canada though, so another chance to shine if the guys gets the chance to play some regular first team football for whoever.

Would be good if they end up playing their group games in Vancouver as I've booked my tickets for the six games there, so if anyone fancies a trip over gie us a shout!

Re: Scottish Under 19's

Spain were always the better team tonight. It was only at the end that we threatened after we scored , as the Germans call it, the anschlusstor. I was impressed with a couple of players, in Charlie Grant and Lee Wallace. Always liked wee ginger haired mid- fielders like Billy Bremner and I thought Wallace did well against that tricky winger.

The boys did really well after the humping last week , now whether that was the Spanish being cocky or the boys learning from their mistakes. Let's say the latter.
