Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Here's the other story in today's paper for the fellow exiles;

FANS' PROTESTS CONTINUE
ANGRY fans have been urged to put their trust in East Fife's new board, despite former chairman Derrick Brown being given a three-year contract as paid secretary of the club.
Protesting supporters had already expressed dismay that Mr Brown had not severed ties with the club and this latest news has further incensed them.
But vice-chairman Sid Collumbine insists the move is in the best interests of the club.
He explained: "If we just change everything for the sake of it then it would be no good for the club.
"We need some continuity and only make changes when we see fit.
"Mr Brown is the one who has been running things. He will now be running things but only under the control of the board.
"I don't want to see the club suddenly disorganised and we need to do things in stages."
Despite the three-year contract, Mr Collumbine insists there is no guarantee Mr Brown will remain at East Fife that length of time.
He said: "He could go if he isn't doing the job to our satisfaction or he could decide to leave himself."
It also appears a deal was struck with Mr Brown to avoid a protracted take-over bid.
Mr Collumbine explained: "There are other reasons why we had to do things this way but I won't go into details.
"But we wanted to avoid having an extraordinary general meeting which could have taken months and months. At least now we are on the inside."

Protesting fans have invited fellow East Fife supporters to an open discussion tomorrow (Thursday) at 7.30 p.m. at the Wellesley Inn, Methil.

Re: New Kit in East Fife Mail ?

Why would it have taken months and months for an EGM?

Re: New Kit in East Fife Mail ?

Someone please turn off the lights ......

Not the most encouraging and quite worrying sentences there from Sid.

Unless it's meant to read "running things into the ground through loss of supporters income"

Re: New Kit in East Fife Mail ?

Rest in peace effc!!!!!!!.

Re: New Kit in East Fife Mail ?

Get the fuck out of here!
No-one's taking our club. EFFC for ever...

Re: New Kit in East Fife Mail ?

Some people live in what was and what they could have been
As opposed to living in a what is and how much they can
And be the first to complain about nothing in life going their way
The attitude is “that I can't do nothing ‘bout”
And very happy with just breathing in and out
The ones that when you say “lets go make a difference”
They'll say “naw that's OK”

Stevie Wonder
