Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Progress so far

From reading the reports, both on this site and in the numerous daily/Sunday rags, the team so far has been performing (reasonably) well. One thing that does worry me a little bit is the lack of goals , 2 in the last 3 matches, one of which was an o.g.

I read somewhere that they played in a 4-5-1 line up yesterday. Not the most attacking set up. On the other hand, flooding the mid field prevents leaking goals so ......

Re: Progress so far

no we set up like a 4-3-3 with smart gordon and ritchie on

Re: Progress so far

They played 4-5-1 at the start of the 2nd half against St Johnstone. We got thumped for a couple of goals and then reverted back to 4-3-3.

I have so much faith in the team for this season. Like every team, we will have hard games and rubbish performances but I like to look on the bright side.

Re: Progress so far

The team is probably as good as any in the league this season - and is set up not to lose goals - however to many 0 - 0 draws will probably not get us promotion - hopefully as the season develops we can develop creativity and flair and win more than we draw.

Re: Progress so far

Remember this team is just getting to know each other and the style that Baikie wants.

This time last season we were bottom of the table with 0 goals scored and 5 conceded and dumped out of both cups without scoring.

We have kept 2 clean sheets in the league and drawn with arguably the favourites and a good 1-0 win away from home.

Confidence is returning

Re: Progress so far

yes baikie likes to build a team that dosen't leak goals, and as said before to a brand new back line they haven't conseeded in the league and played very well against st j, and goals will come with ritchie smart crabbe etc, a few more games and i can sense a team is going to get a right cuffing from us ,
I mean, we can score goal from def mid and attack, and prob from our goalie with the kick he has
