Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Our Squad

Just thinking it's going to be hard for Baikie to keep the whole team happy when the last of our injuries clear up as we do have a big squad.

I think this is good though as there is plenty of competition for places and with Greig McDonald, Gary Kelly and Paul Hampshire all due back soon who is going to make way?

There is going to be a lot of disappointed players this season but the players know they must be at the top of their game to keep their place with the likes of Fortune waiting for any slip ups.

Re: Our Squad

Any truth in the rumour that Jabba is heading off to Oz in January and only has a 6 month contract?

Re: Our Squad

Jaba is in my oppinion the one most likely to lose his place, I'm a fan of his but he's not really performed for us in the games so far.

Re: Our Squad

Jabba has got plans to go to Oz for a year in January

Re: Our Squad

Maybe he likes the looks of Sydney Bridge

Re: Our Squad

its a long season and the bigger the squad the better especially with so many older players who will definitely pick up injuries or be rested.

Players being disappointed is part and parcel of being a squad member and its up to the manager to strike a balance between pissing someone off and being emotionally blackmailed into selection, something I dont think our present manager will suffer from.

Its simple - keep winning and playing well and you'll keep your place, slip up and you'll have a job getting your place back.

PS dont even think about squad rotation, we havent got the strength in depth.

Re: Our Squad

Yeah big squad needed so it will be a rotation system as to who gets paid.....
