Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

SPL II

Do you think our invitation is in the post?

Is this a bad thing for lower league clubs? I can't decide. I'd imagine that it'll have an impact on competition sponsership revenue.

Re: SPL II

It's devastating news for all wee teams like East Fife. The bigger clubs get a bigger share of the pie and stay bigger clubs while the wee clubs are left behind.

Capatalism.

Re: SPL II

I guess we won't be getting an invitation if we've got a plastic pitch.

Re: SPL II

The BBC says that 3000 seats and a "pitch protection scheme" are part of the entry criteria.

Who's actually eligible for promotion to SPL 2 from the lower leagues currently?? Morton, Raith, Ayr Utd, Hamilton?

Re: SPL II

What the hell is a "pitch protection scheme" ??

Re: SPL II

It'll just be covers or something like the system Motherwell had previously before they put the undersoild heating in.

Re: SPL II

I note that one of the requirements is:

"Require clubs to "demonstrate current best practice in corporate governance"."

Well of Deek's around that's us definitely buggered.

Language Eugene! Keriann might read this.

Re: SPL II

Na.

She'll be too busy ironing.

Re: SPL II

She's making pancakes for breakfast actually! The ironing was finished a wee while ago.
