Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Is this the plan??

With all the news about an SPL2 being formed it looks more and more likely that Scottish league football is going to be changed - with an SPL 1 and 2 being insitu it looks like the SFL will become defunct or possibly merge with the juniors in someway - this would mean that some current league teams will no longer be among the echelons of senoir football - the basic criteria to membership of SPL2 is a 3,000 seat stadium and a pitch protection system - along with club participation in reserve and under 19 leagues and a youth development programme - will our current board go down this road? - or is East-Fife FC destined for the annuls of football history and there assets turned into a housing complex or some such ilk - I for one would be interested in the boards views and reactions to this situation - change will come -clubs need sponsorship if they wish to progress nowadays - and the SFL has been virtually useless at finding sponsorship - another case of the powers that be wearing the blazer to boost the ego but doing little for the membership - as I said previously lets ask the board there views on which way they are going to take the club - and what actions they are going to take to secure senoir football for the club.
