Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Mystery 40k backer

I was reliably informed last night that The fife are
being heavily backed to lift the league title this
year. The figures that were floating were a few big
bets of around 40k each at a price of 5 to 1.

Anyone else know of these big backers???

Re: Mystery 40k backer

It was me.

Re: Mystery 40k backer

Hopefully a couple of Stenhousemuir players...

Re: Mystery 40k backer

No need to take the piss lads this info was given to
me by a very big name associated with Rangers.

Just thought i'd put it out there incase anyone else
had heard anything.

Re: Mystery 40k backer

No mystery there, Willie Gray has previous form on placing bets - just ask Brian Leroni at the Sunday Mail!

Re: Mystery 40k backer

Even if he was indirectly involved who cares? I'd be very worried if people at the club were betting against us, but not on us to win.

Re: Mystery 40k backer

Giovanni Van Bronckhorst used to be a big name at Rangers

Re: Mystery 40k backer

Wasn't trying to insinuate that there are/were any
underhand tactics involved in this gambling, was
merely passing on my new found knowledge to fellow
fans as someone somewhere must have alot of confidence
in the Fife taking the title this season and was
hoping that the fans would get a little lift from
that.

Lonefifer,
Van Bronkhurst didn't attend the Hilton on Sunday and
he wasn't that big a name whilst in Glasgow.

Re: Mystery 40k backer

22 letters - I would say that was a big name

Re: Mystery 40k backer

Celtic have signed a big-name player today.
