Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

For the exiles...

WE CAN MAKE EAST FIFE GREAT AGAIN
NEW East Fife chairman Willie Gray has laid his ambitions for the club firmly on the line.
The Bayview chief hopes to make the side a potent force once more in Scottish football.
And he wants supporters and all groups connected with the club to work together to pilot the way ahead.
Mr Gray said he understood the actions of fans who had campaigned for change over the past year - and urged stay-away supporters to return.
In a statement issued on Monday, he said it was a great honour to hold such a position at a club with as proud and colourful a history as East Fife FC.
Although he had never claimed to be a lifelong supporter, he had learned much about it in recent months.
Great history and achievements of the past were things only a few clubs could boast and he would relish the chance _ along with supporters _ to bring some "long overdue" silverware back to present-day Methil.
Mr Gray added: "I think it would be fair to say this club has been brought to its knees in recent years.
"Frustration and anger among the support has been understandably high, and rightly so.
"The protests and demonstrations by the supporters show a great passion and desire for change at this club.
"This is something I commend and now the wheels of change are in motion, I hope the supporters can unite with Sid Collumbine and I in order for us to bring about the changes needed to get the club back on its feet."
