Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

EFFC Directors neglect the team

Out of 8 directors only 1 made it up to Elgin(Andy Hain). Any ideas why the rest failed to show? I know Willie Gray was on holiday, but what of the rest?
Very poor show considering the fans who paid good money to travel a long way, which the players appreciated. The directors who only needed to step on a bus and get ferried there free of charge couldn't be arsed.

Re: EFFC Directors neglect the team

If you don't know why they weren't there - the reason for your post -why do you assume they couldn't be arsed?

I'm not defending them - I've no idea why they didn't attend and if there's not a good explanation then it's fair to criticise - but it seems a strange sequence, to ask for an explanation then draw a conclusion before getting an answer.

Re: EFFC Directors neglect the team

It's quite obvious - Willie and Derrick would be at Raith v Cowdenbeath, where their hearts lie. Sid was probably at a funeral, which might well have been at Stark's Park too.

Re: EFFC Directors neglect the team

By the law of averages it would seem strange that 7 out of 8 all had more pressing engagements on a Saturday afternoon given that they are football directors. Hence the reason I surmised some of them couldn't be arsed.

Re: EFFC Directors neglect the team

Deek was lording it in the Directors Box at Stark's Park apparently. He was wearing his East Fife tie though!

Mind you it may be that the famous four have given up!
Another victory for the protesters.
