Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Dave Baikie

We have made a great start to the season and the players eem to have gelled pretty well and we have a decent squad. Nothing has really been made of the work Dave Baikie and his backroom staff have done. I'd like to congratulate them on having the team playing some good football and working as a unit. Well done guys.
It's going to be difficult for him to keep everyone happy once the injuries to Ian Ross, Jamie McGowan, Stephan Fortune, Greig McDonald, Ally Mitchell & Scott Crabbe clear up.
My one concern about the squad I had at the start of the season has already come up. The experienced players, Mitchell, Crabbe, McGowan and Ritchie have all been out injured at some stage and due to their advancing year (Ok Experience !!) they are taking longer to recover. What will they be like during the winter when pitches become heavy ?
Well done to the management and players for making many fans look forward to a Saturday again !! Let's keep it going !

Re: Dave Baikie

Well said, Baikie and his team are doing very well in far from ideal circumstances, keep it up guys.

Re: Dave Baikie

Agreed!

It's going to be interesting when McDonald and McGowan both return as our defence has been solid and can't see Baikie splitting up Smart and Courts just now.

Going to be good competition for places anyway, which is a good thing.

Re: Dave Baikie

Big Greig can do a turn in midfield remember...

Re: Dave Baikie

does any1 know when greig will be fit again?

Re: Dave Baikie

he reckons in about a month or so.

Re: Dave Baikie

A few months ago, some of you were up in arms, to put it mildly, that a jailed thug had been apppointed manager of EFFC.

Tunes have changed.

Re: Dave Baikie

Some were up in arms, some were not.

Fans will always accept a manager who puts out a winning team. I think you will find that those who expressed regrets at Baikie's appointment still have those concerns.

Cowdenbeath haven't done too badly since he was forced to resign in shame.
