Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Meeting

A meeting will be held on Tuesday 26th September at 7.30pm in the Wellesley Inn to discuss the repercussions of tonight's news and the way ahead. We would hope to have persuaded Willie to attend by this time.

There can be no sitting on the fence any more over the future of our club.We need to persuade Willie to stay and move to remove Brown now.I am not scaremongering when I suggest that, potentially,we could be worse off now than we were a year ago.

Let's get together on Tuesday, time is of an essence.

Re: Meeting

Bump

Re: Meeting

Has he resigned totally from the board of directors ?.

Re: Meeting

Good Luck Dave

Re: Meeting

Cheers,Stevie. We could all do with your help.

Re: Meeting

Through the understandable anger of tonight's news we need to remain focused. We need to work out what we can and cannot do to change the situation we find ourselves in.Whatever we decide to do,we need to do it as one.Every East Fife fan is needed for the last battle we may get the chance to fight.Lose this one and we may lose everything.

Re: Meeting

bump

Re: Meeting

I will be there.

Re: Meeting

Have stickied.

Can't make it as working, but if I can be of any help just let me know.

Re: Meeting

i totally agree dave ,that little r sole would rather see ou r club go to the wall than walk away.i`ll see you on the bus tomorrow. it is now time to get personal and i for 1 will be at the front of anything to do with getting rid of broon.the little freak has to go and the sooner the better.we will have to have words with wullie gray and all shareholders we can talk to.see you tomorrow.

Re: Meeting

Would love to make the meeting, and today's game(!), but I'm not around just now. Is it worth raising the 'Garden leave' question again - particuarly now given the O'Reily registration issue?

I think it is also worth considering how we demonstrate to Willie that he has the backing of the fans. Consider how we can give him the support to see this through to the end.

Re: Meeting

Has someone been in touch with The Courier about the meeting for the benefit of our non-interweb browsing fans?

Re: Meeting

Yes,Igor.I e-mailed earlier.Willie confirmed yesterday that he would be coming.

Re: Meeting

Dave
Not sure if I can make meeting due to work commitment. However, would it be helpful for the fans to 'lobby' the directors prior to the meeting. We could give out information sheets on Browns gaffes, alleged illegal dealings, lose of support to the club, damage to the finances with dwindling crowds ie all the usual failings of the idiot. Re: Meeting

Re: Meeting

No problem Grant. There is no law against it.

Re: Meeting

Evening Telegraph

After a report on Saturday's game under the headline; Fifers thumped; the paper reported,
Meanwhile'the club's supporters have called an emergency meeting tomorrow to discuss the situation after it emerged chairman Willie Gray had tendered his resignation at the weekend.

Mr Gray offered to quit on Friday night citing "continued interference" on a range of issues from former chairman Derrick Brown.

That offer was immediately turned down by vice-chairman and shareholder Sid Collumbine and the chairman subsequently withdrew his notice on Saturday morning after messages of support from players and fans alike.

Now supporters have been urged to attend a meeting at the Wellesley Inn to allow East Fife fans to discuss the matter in depth.

Organiser Dave Marshall,a former director at the club, said "What we decide to do now must be the final solution as we may not get another chance."

Mr Gray, who has vowed to remain as chairman for the time being, has already confirmed his attendance.

Re: Meeting

cheers,fifeyboab.

Re: Meeting

A similar piece to the Evening Telegraph is printed in today's Courier.

Re: Meeting

furthering the "garden leave" proposal, how about banning brown from bayview for good? There's nothing in the constitution that states a director must be allowed access to the stadium. If we need to wait until an AGM to remove him, lets limit the harm he can do in the meantime

I don't suggest this as part of a petty vendetta, but more of an attempt to put an end to brown's latest stance of "chairman-all-but-in-name".

Re: Meeting

I also thought of this and wondered why it has not been done if as is said everyone there hates him and his interference.

Re: Meeting

Dave, I have been held up at work in Montrose and wont be able to make it tonight. Will someone post a summary of events?
Good luck
