Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Keeping It In The Family

If Jason Dair signs for East Fife as reported, he will be following in the footsteps of sibling Lee.
I was thinking what other family conections have had association with the club.
For starters Conrad and Tom Courts, Graham and Ben Honeyman, Billy McPhees,

Any others?

Re: Keeping It In The Family

Three McPhees. Billy senior, his brother Bobby, and Billy's son Billy.

The Davidsons, Doug and Jackie.

Re: Keeping It In The Family

Billy Herd and Willie Herd.

Re: Keeping It In The Family

If it wasn't for the fa**y who is Davie Clark, Lee Dair may still be at Easy Fife, think he was a decent player for us in the time he was here but memorably fell out with Clark and threw a water bottle at him.

Re: Keeping It In The Family

I think Stef Fortune's old man was on East Fife's books, but didn't feature in the first team.
Not sure that Billy McPhee Snr's father played for the Fife. He was a lifelong supporter and had his ashes scattered on old Bayview.
Graham Honeyman's nephew, Sandy, had a brief spell with us around 1980.
Henry McLeish and his Grandfather also played for us.
Then there was brothers Andy and Bobby Waddell and cousins Rab and Davie Cairns.

On the other hand Cowdenbeath's history of related players past and present would make Rothmans look like the Wee Red Book...

craig smart and j smart

Re: Keeping It In The Family

Along our section of Bayview, we've long been convinced Craig Smart and John Martin are man and wife. They certainly bicker like an old married couple on the park.

Mr & Mrs Smartin - there you go.

Re: Keeping It In The Family

Did not 3 WADDELLS not play for EFFC, younger brother HARRY?.

Re: Keeping It In The Family

i know 3 waddells who scoop lager for EFFC.

Re: Keeping It In The Family

Dougie and Jackie Davidson from the late 40's team.

Re: Keeping It In The Family

The McPhee who played for East Fife before Billy was his brother Bobby.
Billy's son, also Billy, played a few games for us. I believe this was the same guy who, when maybe about five or six years old, was a mascot for about an entire season in the early 1970's and used to run out with the team before the game.

Re: Keeping It In The Family

eh, jim and jim, did we not cover these ones in the second post from the top?????
